The Process:
Every one of my hand made pieces start out as a lump of raw clay...wedged together into one single lump, wheel thrown, trimmed, handled, designed (designing includes all the steps where I: add gentrly press each scale and or add tails/lady bugs/hand carved sand dollars, unicorn horns, etc to each mug, or i'll hand paint it with a special glaze, hence floral patterns, feathers, swirls etc]).
Then the piece is set to dry for about a week or two, & fired to approximately 1830° F for about 18 hours, in a special ceramic oven called a kiln
Next when it comes back out of the kiln, it gets inspected to make sure its high quality, then hand painted with 3-5 coats of a special glaze that turns into liquid glass, this is what gives the mug a perfectly shiny coat after its fired again for the 2nd time to about 2230°F for another 23 hours!
The final step may involve retouching special areas with liquid gold and refiring it to 1200°F again...
there are OVER 15 steps each vessel has to go though before being listed here, i encourage you to visit my Instagram account to see all the steps in a special highlight called “Clay 101”
my heart and soul goes into each one of the items listed in my shop, and anywhere between 3-6 hours is invested on just ONE mug to make sure its perfect upon arrival to your new home ❤️
As always, every one of my pieces are made with the highest quality and devotion, they are, hot or cold to the touch ...depending on what you put into it... so please be careful! (IT CAN GET REALLY HOT!)
